How to permanently delete your Telangana Rakshana Sena membership account and the personal data held with it, from inside the app, or by writing to us if you no longer have it.Last updated: 4 August 2026
1. Deleting From the App
You can delete your account yourself, at any time, without contacting anyone:
- Open the Telangana Rakshana Sena app and go to Settings.
- Tap Delete my account at the bottom of the screen.
- Read the warning and confirm, then type DELETE to confirm a second time.
The deletion takes effect immediately. It is deliberately a two-step confirmation, because it cannot be undone.
2. Requesting Deletion Without the App
If you have already uninstalled the app, or cannot sign in, you do not need to reinstall it. Write to the Grievance Officer, Telangana Rakshana Sena at grievance@trsparty.org with the subject line "Account deletion request", and include:
- the mobile number registered with your account;
- your member ID, if you have it;
- the name on your membership record.
We use these only to confirm the request is genuinely yours, we will not delete an account on an unverified request, because doing so would let anyone erase another member's record. In line with Rule 3(2) of the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, we acknowledge your request within 24 hours and complete verified deletion requests within 15 days. Postal requests may be sent to Telangana Rakshana Sena, TRS Party Office, Road No. 12, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, 500034, Telangana, India.
3. What Is Erased
When your account is deleted, the following personal data is permanently erased:
- Your name, profile photograph and biography.
- Your registered mobile number and the link between it and this account.
- Your district, mandal, ward and constituency.
- Your education, occupation, party role and year of joining.
- Any social media links you added to your profile.
- Every active login session, you are signed out of all devices immediately.
- Your push-notification registrations, so the app can no longer send alerts to your phone.
The account is then permanently deactivated and can never be signed into again. If you wish to take part again later, you will need to register afresh as a new member.
4. What Remains, and Why
- Posts and comments you published: these remain in the community feed, but are detached from your identity, they are no longer attributed to you, to your name, or to any contactable person. This keeps conversations other members took part in readable instead of leaving broken gaps.
- Contribution and compliance records: where you made a donation, the record of that contribution and any identity verification required for it must be retained. This is a legal obligation under the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the Income Tax Act, 1961 and Election Commission of India record-keeping norms, and it applies whether or not your account exists.
- A record of the deletion itself: we log that an erasure was carried out, and when, so that we can demonstrate the request was honoured. This log does not contain your personal details.
Nothing retained above can be used to contact you, to identify you in the app, or to sign in as you.
